Marie and Ron Bader were charter members of the cut flower co-op. They established Moss Island Farms as an “urban” peony farm right in the heart of Homer. For 26 years the Bader’s farmed oysters and mussels at their home in Peterson Bay while tilling their garden for decades more with inputs from the sea. Thus, a soil-based peony farm fit right into their interests and energies. While the Bader's have retired from farming, they remain valued members of our community.
