Student Summer Interns

"My name is Hadley, and I was the Summer Intern in 2025. As an intern, I split my time between the farm and the packhouse. This internship exposed me to the world of boutique farming and the logistics of running a small business. Working in the packhouse, I was involved in the daily operations such as preparing and packaging wholesale orders, dehydrating peony petals for the value-added products like the bath salts and teas, and inputting inventory into the Excel spreadsheet. On the farm, I weeded, harvested filler plants to make bouquets, ran the merchandise booth during farm tours, and harvested the peonies. Not only was this a wonderful experience because of the skills I gained, but also because of the people I worked with. The Alaska Beauty Peony Co-op Team is such a wonderful group of people with whom I collaborated, learned from, and laughed with on a daily basis. I left this experience with a newfound appreciation for the flower industry and a love for making bouquets for the special folks in my life. If you are interested in working with amazing people, being outside, horticulture, business, or experiencingeverything Homer has to offer, apply for the Alaska Beauty Peony Co-op Internship today!" - Hadley, UAF Intern (Summer 2025)
