After spending 42 years in the remote reaches of Alaska, we—Kirsten and husband Carl—decided to begin a new chapter on a 40-acre farm in Homer. We named the farm after Kirsten’s father, James Schmidt, who passed away the same week we bought the property. We know he would have loved it here, riding the tractor, watching the miracle of seasonal changes over the fields, and simply sitting and looking across the stunning view of Kachemak Bay. He lived well into his nineties and had quite an eventful life, but we would have loved to have had some time with him here. Danish Daughter Farm is the latest addition to Within The Wild: Alaska Adventure Company.
